Ashley Furniture Industries Recalls Party Time Power Loveseats, Sofas, and Recliners Due to Fire Hazard
Ashley Furniture Industries has issued a recall for its Party Time Collection Loveseats, Sofas, and Recliners due to a potential fire hazard. The recall, announced on June 8, 2023, affects approximately 253,000 units of these products sold in the United States, with an additional 9,450 units sold in Canada.
The reason for the recall is that the cupholder with LED lighting in the power loveseats, sofas, and recliners can overheat, posing a fire hazard. The company is aware of six incidents where the cupholder overheated, resulting in fire and smoke damage to the furniture. Fortunately, no injuries have been reported so far.
The recalled Party Time Collection includes power reclining faux leather home seating units with power controls, integrated LED lighting, and USB charging ports. The affected models are sold in black and white colors. Consumers can identify the recalled products by checking the model numbers, which are located on a barcode at the bottom of each unit. The specific model numbers included in the recall are as follows:
- Loveseat: 3700318, 3700418, 3700318C, and 3700418C
- Sofa: 3700315, 3700415, 3700315C, and 3700415C
- Recliner: 3700313, 3700413, 3700313C, and 3700413C
Owners of the affected Party Time Power Loveseats, Sofas, and Recliners are advised to immediately unplug the products and contact Ashley Furniture Industries for a free repair. The Party Time Collection Loveseats, Sofas, and Recliners were sold at Ashley Homestores and other furniture stores nationwide, as well as online at Ashleyfurniture.com, from November 2018 through March 2023. The products were priced between $900 and $1,800.
The manufacturing of these products involved Happy Smart Furnishings of China and Vietnam, as well as Colia Leather of Cambodia. The importer of the recalled furniture is Ashley Furniture Trading Co. LLC, based in Arcadia, Wisconsin.
