In South Jamaica, NY, the NYPD is searching for a woman in her 20s who fled the scene of a fatal car accident on the Van Wyck Expressway. The incident occurred around 3:25 AM last Sunday, involving a BMW X6 that rear-ended a Nissan Altima, resulting in the death of a female passenger. The driver of the Nissan was injured but is stable. The BMW driver also hit a Toyota Camry and another Nissan before fleeing on foot. Investigators are reviewing video footage to identify the suspect.

SOUTH JAMAICA, NEW YORK – According to an online news report posted on qchron.com, NYPD is searching for a woman in her 20s who purportedly left the scene of a fatal car accident. The accident occurred on the Van Wyck Expressway by 116th Avenue in South Jamaica at around 3:25 in the morning last Sunday.

According to the NYPD, the woman is still being sought by law enforcement. The young woman’s BMW X6 caused a fatal rear-end accident with the car she was riding in. The name of the deceased woman is pending family notification by the NYPD. According to EMS, the victim passed away instantly from trauma to the body caused by the sudden collision. The victim was a rear seat passenger in the Nissan Altima. The driver of the Nissan, a 38-year-old man, suffered injuries and was taken to Jamaica Hospital. He is in stable medical condition.

The accident transpired inside of the 113th Precinct. The news report states that the driver in the BMW X6 fled the accident scene on foot. The driver also purportedly hit a Toyota Camry and another Nissan, according to the NYPD. Other drivers and people involved were injured and transported to the hospital for medical treatment.

The criminal and accident investigators are reviewing video that could potentially show the suspect running from the accident scene, and help identify the hit-and-run driver, stated the NYPD’s Highway Collision Investigation Squad spokesperson.
