According to a news report published on PopCulture.com, the United States Consumer Product Safety Commission and WeeSprout have issued a voluntary recall of the company’s newborn baby sleep sacks. The recall announcement stated that all models of the Baby Sleep Sack are being recalled due to reports of the zipper detaching and causing a potential choking hazard. The WeeSprout Baby Sleep Sack recall affects more than 31,000 sleep sacks fabricated in China.

The WeeSprout Baby Sleep Sack recall includes all sizes and colors of the 100% cotton sleep sacks. The sleep sacks are used by newborns and babies up to 36 months old. The baby sleep sacks were sold in the following colors: dotted rose, blue dusk, rosemary stitch, and gray stitch. The sleep sacks were sold online at Amazon.com and on weesprout.com from August 2022 through December 2022 at a price of around $17. So far, there have been about 17 reports of the zipper falling off of the baby sleep sacks.

Weesprout stated that it elected to use the Consumer Product Safety Commission’s fast-track recall method so that it could effectively warn customers of product safety concerns. The recall effectively pulls the products off the market. Weesprout is urging customers to immediately stop using the recalled baby sleep sacks, even if the zipper appears functional. Customers are also urged to cut the baby sleep sacks in half, send in a photo of the destroyed baby sleep sacks, and dispose of the recalled products immediately. Weesprout.com will then issue a refund of $17 or provide weesprout.com credit. More information can be found on weesprout.com.

Weesprout stated in the recall announcement that safety is their number one priority. According to the company, third-party inspectors check all of their product shipments for safety and monitor their products’ quality control standards.

The CPSC also issued several new recalls and warnings on other baby-related products. Those recalls include Baby Trend’s Sit N’ Stand Double, Ultra strollers, and Silver Lining Cloud Activity Gyms. The CPSC announced the recall of the Skip Hop Silver Lining Cloud Activity Gym due to the raindrops detaching from their ribbon, creating a probable choking hazard. The Baby Trend’s Ultra and Sit N’ Stand Double strollers were recalled due to an entrapment risk, with one death documented.

My sister was exposed to 9/11 toxins and developed several types of cancer. She chose Parker Waichman to engage the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund and was assigned Tina Morace as her paralegal. Tina was helpful, professional and compassionate in helping us gather medical records and other important information required for the case. Tina was clear and concise in followup queries from the Fund and was quick to respond to our questions. When my sister's condition deteriorated and she passed, Tina was so thoughtful, patient and helpful when I had to address continued Fund followup questions. I will always be thankful for having Tina in our lives. She helped make my sister's last years easier in this aspect. And she was a knowledgeable friend to me, assisting in information gathering and consoling me in my loss. Thank you Parker Waichman. Thank you Tina Morace. Thank you Tina Morace.
