Fatal Four Motor Vehicle Accident in Deer Park, New York

BROOKLYN, NY – A news report posted on news12.com states that law enforcement officers are investigating a fatal four-vehicle accident that occurred in Deer Park Thursday night. According to police reports, a man driving a Toyota Camry and a woman operating a Honda Accord was stopped at a red light along Grand Avenue when a man driving a Mazda struck both motor vehicles from the rear around 10:30 in the evening.
Accident investigators stated that the accident forced all three motor vehicles into the intersection, which caused an accident a Nissan Sentra that was being operated by a man heading southbound along Deer Park Avenue. The accident forced the Toyota Camry to cross Deer Park Avenue and off of the roadway.
The Toyota Camry’s driver was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, New York, where he was tragically pronounced deceased. The name of the accident victim was withheld pending notification of the victim’s next of kin.
The Honda Accord’s driver, a 45-year-old Greenlawn man, was also taken to Good Samaritan Hospital Medical Center in West Islip, New York, to treat his non-life-threatening accident injuries.
According to the news report, the Mazda’s driver, an 18-year-old Valley Stream man, was taken to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore for medical treatment of his non-life-threatening injuries. The Nissan driver, a 32-year-old man from Melville, New York, was not hurt in the accident.
Law enforcement officers impounded all motor vehicles for safety checks. The multi-vehicle accident is currently under investigation. There were no reports of criminal charges in the accident at this time.
