WASHINGTON (BRAIN) — Promax hydraulic disc brakes, as specified on certain models of Trek Bicycles, are currently being recalled due to a potential issue where the brake hose may disengage from the lever, thus posing a risk of accidents.
The recall pertains to bikes outfitted with version 1 of the Promax Solve DSK-925 and Promax F1 DSK-927 hydraulic disc brakes. These brakes were originally installed on the bike models that are detailed on the Consumer Product Safety Commission’s recall page. The recall impacts approximately 96,900 bicycles. So far, Trek has documented 195 incidents of brake hose detachment within the U.S. Fortunately, there have been no reports of injuries.
